December

These are my fun Literature Class girls. They came over for pizza and movie night.  They giggled their way through Little Women, especially when there was any hint of romance.  It was almost a disaster when I couldn't get the DVD player to work.  I had to call up Luke at work and he ran over on his dinner break to rewire the machine. Our hero!

I just kind of like the composition of this photo, stair-stepping up to the music minister.  Annaliese, Linnea and Sonja are in the children's choir.  Most of the kids wore their Christmas-y clothes; Sonja had on a nice dress but she went on stage wearing her church coat 'cause it's so "pretty".  And she stood in the front row.  They played the handbells which Sonja loves.

Our Sonja Claire turned 8, what a big girl!  Breakfast tradition must be followed: breakfast in bed, birthday person's choice.  Sonja picked omelet with cheese and olives, cutie, and bacon.  She enjoyed her meal with the comic page and her Raggedys by her side.

We raced to build snowmen in the living room.  They ended up looking suspiciously like Annaliese and Jackson.

Grandma Greenwood sent the makings of a snowman minus the snow.  When we finally get snow, our snowwoman will don this hat and scarf.  In the meantime they look cute on Sonja.

The girls spend hours making houses out of cardboard boxes.  Notice the large Bears logo on the house wall.  Ha!

We took our usual trip downtown to see the windows at Marshall Fields and to browse the Christkindlmarket.  Here we are taking a break in the Chicago Cultural Center.

Annaliese, Linnea and I still go English Country Dancing once a month.  This month was a special Christmas dance.  The Paynes, Dunns, and Grace joined us this time.  Don't the girls look elegant?

Sofie lent me a dress for the occasion.  It is actually a maternity dress that she picked up at a resale shop!
