Dancing Hedgehogs

For the past week I have been living with singing and dancing hedgehogs.  Annaliese and Linnea auditioned and were cast as hedgehogs in Narnia.  The parents assume roles in the play too...Jay was part of the set team, spending a couple of weekend days constructing and assembling the expanded stage.  I was a green room mom that spent most of the show week in the depths of the auditorium building with up to 80 kids.  It felt like my life on steroids...answering kids' questions, solving kids' problems, picking up kids' messes, asking kids to "keep it down".  By the last day I surprised myself...I was actually sad to have it end...I had gotten to know and enjoy so many of the actors and actresses.  Since this show requires all but four of the actors to become something other than a human, the make-up committee had an overwhelming task.  I stepped in and had so much fun transforming kids into hedgehogs, mice, foxes, a bull.  The play was well received, for the most part.  There were some complaints that the show was too frightening for little ones; but the story is about good (Christ) versus evil (Satan), sin vs. redemption.

Logan took the Greyhound from Champaign to surprise the girls.  He showed up at the cast gathering at Culvers.  Annaliese was so happy she began to cry!

The girls went to a glow-in-the-dark miniature golf party tonight because they sold a lot of tickets.  (Actually Annaliese sold all of them, but she sold so many Linnea was invited to come along too.)
